Camps

Our summer camp is a French introduction and immersion program. We use French as much as possible to encourage kids to practice and play in French. We accommodate both new learners and fluent French speakers, from 4 years 9 months to 12 years old.

Our teachers welcome all children in a happy, caring, and relaxed atmosphere.

Mornings are our academic time, both individually with tutoring and in a group setting with a review of math and English material from the previous school year to combat summer learning loss and strengthen skills for the next school year. Each child is provided with a booklet with the material from the prior grade to review. Children are organized into mini groups by grade level. 

During French class, our campers will learn French through writing, speaking, listening, and educational games. For the first part of the class (reading/ writing), we provide customized material depending on the French level of the camper to offer every child an opportunity to learn and progress. The second part of the class (Speaking, communication, listening) is with the group. Activities for this part include learning songs, role-playing, educational games, etc.

Our afternoons are a time for more fun yet enriching activities - to relax and have fun with new friends! We apply every summer to rent an outdoor yard just across the street. If it's granted (which is usually the case), we start the afternoon with 1h hour of outdoor sports and games to take in some fresh air and burn off some energy. Lastly, we end the day with science experiments, arts and crafts, games, treasure hunts, or theater play.

Price for 1 week is $525.
The Early Bird Registration price is $472.5 when you purchase before January 1st, 2023.

Price for 1 week of half days is $265 (no discounts).

No other part-time or day registration available in advance. Please contact us 4 days before the week starts for partial registration and we'll see if we can accommodate it. Price for one day camp $120. No discounts are available for half days.

As most of our campers participate in multiple camps, we are pleased to present our new offer depending on the number of camps, (also valid for siblings):

Each camp will last for full days from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.  

Check in will be held between 8:55 am and 9:30 am each morning.

Sign out is between 4:00 and 4:30 pm. You must pick up your child by 4:30 pm.

Early drop off and aftercare 

We may offer  early drop off and aftercare, if there is enough interest. If you are interested in early drop off 8:30 to 9:00 and or aftercare 4:30 to 5:00 (with additional cost, $100 per week for both) please email us at camps@afsf.com. 
We could add this service if we receive sufficient interest from parents. 

I can't pick up my child, can I ask someone else to pick him/her up for me? 

Yes IF  the person is on your authorized pickup list (in the form you filled with us) 
OR if you email us (only written email will be valid, no phone call, no text message) with the name of your child, your name, and the name of the responsible adult (over 18) plus phone number to add on the authorized pick up list. Please also confirm if you want the person to be authorized on only one/ several specific date(s) or for the duration of the camp. 

IMPORTANT !

• We will NOT release your child to a person under 18, even if it's his/her sibling.
• We will NOT release your child to anyone (even the parent of another child) who is NOT on your authorized pick up list or for which we have not receive a written confirmation
• Any adult will need to show photo ID to pick up a child before signing the document. 
• Every child MUST be signed IN AND OUT  by an adult from the authorized pick up list EVERY MORNING  AND EVERY AFTERNOON at the front desk. We will NOT allow any child to enter or leave the building if not accompanied by one authorized adult.
• Your child WILL NEVER be allowed to come/leave alone by bus. 

Children ages 4 years and 9 months (on the first day of camp)- 12 years old are eligible to register for camp.

We request that kids are able to use the bathroom autonomously. 

Parents should plan to pack snacks, lunch and a water bottle for their kids. 

Please let us know in advance, if your child has food allergies  in particular for strong allergies so we can communicate with other parents and have a safe environment.

• a jacket to keep your child warm
• a great smile and energy! 
• NO toys/ video games/ cards/ books- please leave them all at home we have everything your child needs. 

What to do if we are running late / have a doctor appointment or need to pick up early ?

Please email our camp coordinator at camps@afsf.com and cc the front desk at afsf@afsf.com to let us know what time you plan to drop off or pick up. 

What to do if my child is sick? 
Please stay home even if you think it's not Covid related, email our camp coordinator at camps@afsf.com to let us know and take a Covid test ASAP!  Let us know the results as soon as you have them. 

COVID-19 VACCINE POLICY

We Highly recommend children to be fully vaccinated against covid before attending the camp.  However, starting 2023, we will no longer require proof of vaccination.
