Trial class

For your first class with a new teacher, you can decide to purchase a 1h trial class. A trial class is a good idea if you are looking for a thorough evaluation of your French skills and to define your goal scope. You can also choose this option before purchasing a regular package if you hesitate between private lessons and a group course. A membership is not required for the trial class.

Our rates for Trail classes are:

Trial class (1 hour) : $90
Semi-Private Trial Class for 2 students (1 hour): $160

For your first class with a new teacher you can decide to purchase a 1h trial class (see above) . After this first class, you will be required to purchase a package to continue.

At this time we are no longer travelling to private courses offsite. However, we do offer corporate classes.

*Semi-private classes are for students coming together with the same proficiency level and objectives. We do not match or organize semi-private classes.

Mandatory membership

We require a valid one-year membership to the Alliance Française to purchase private classes (except for a one hour trial class). Benefits of our membership include access to the library and to social and cultural events, as well as other various promotions.

The first hour with a new teacher

Accepted Answer

The first hour of lessons with a new teacher will be dedicated to evaluate the level of your level, the objectives of the course, the expected progression, the method that will best suit you and recommend any instruction material.

You will also define with your teacher the schedule for your next French private lessons that works for both of you, usually the same slot every week.

You can make your payment online after we match you with an instructor, by phone or at our reception desk. We accept cash, check, debit and credit cards for payments.

REGISTRATION FOR PRIVATE CLASSES INDICATES THAT YOU HAVE READ AND AGREE TO COMPLY WITH THE ALLIANCE FRANCAISE OF SAN FRANCISCO POLICY.

IMPORTANT

A minimum of 24-hour notice is required to cancel a class. Otherwise, the entire duration of the missed lesson will be forfeited.

Private classes are non-refundable, but we may transfer the amount upon agreement for group classes partially or in totality (during the same calendar year).

Purchased private classes are valid for 1 calendar year starting from the date of purchase and will expire automatically. No extension will be provided.

Credits from private classes are valid for 1 calendar year from the date of purchase.
