Our courses follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, which is a guideline that describes the level of fluency achieved by a foreign language learner. The CEFRL includes 6 levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. Note that we have recently changed the name associated with each level.

Before enrolling, we invite you to take a placement test to make sure we find the right class for you.  Don't be afraid! It will take you only a few minutes to complete and it's the best way to find the class that fits your language needs.

INterested in a trial class?

Between October 11 and October 16, you will have an opportunity to attend a French class of your choice before enrolling for a full course. Take a look at the list of trial classes available (online or in-person) and sign up now - limited seats!

Please note that we have changed our levels naming system:

  • Level A1 : Beginner (no change)

  • Level A2 : Elementary (previously Intermediate / Intermédiaire)

  • Level B1 : Intermediate (previously Advanced / Avancé )

  • Level B2 : Advanced (previously Master / Maîtrise)

  • Level C1 : Proficient (previously Expert)

Registration

(Online & in person courses)

Starting in August: some classes will be held on-site in San Francisco. Most of the courses will still be held online. Look for the sign "AF San Francisco" above the schedule to find on-site classes.

For all: "PACK CLASS + CONVERSATION" DISCOUNT
Looking for an opportunity to practice your speaking skills? Enroll in a Conversation course with a 20% discount. 
Discount is applied automatically when registering for any regular course AND a conversation course.
OR
When you are already enrolled in a French course for adults for the next session (session 6), you can get 20% OFF when you register for a conversation course during the session 6.
Valid until October 18th, 2021.

For all: "MULTIPLE CLASSES - SAME SESSION" DISCOUNT
Get a 10%  discount on each French course when you register for two or more group courses (other than a conversation course) scheduled during the same session.

For AFSF students: until October 18th, get a 5% discount as a returning student. AFSF students are people who signed up for group courses in 2021 or 12 hours of private lessons during the last 12 months.

Ce cours propose de vous faire parler autant que possible.  La première partie sera la plus spontanée et la plus amicale : nous partagerons ce que nous faisons d'intéressant ou ce qui nous intéresse actuellement.  Ensuite nous discuterons d'un sujet choisi en fonction de vos intérêts, nous appuyant sur un article ou une vidéo partagé/e à l'avance.  Enfin chaque élève qui le souhaite aura l'occasion de faire une présentation sur un sujet de son choix avant de répondre aux questions de ses camarades.

Tout au long du cours, votre professeur se tiendra à votre disposition pour corriger d'éventuelles fautes de prononciation et de grammaire, tout en proposant un vocabulaire adéquat.
