TCF Canada Exam
The TCF Canada consists of four mandatory parts. It evaluates general French language proficiency in listening comprehension, reading comprehension, speaking and writing.
- 39 multiple choice questions for listening comprehension - 35 minutes;
- 39 multiple choice questions for the reading comprehension with only one correct answer possible - 60 minutes;
- 3 speaking tasks, organized according to a progressively increasing level of difficulty - 30 minutes (12 minutes effective interaction);
- 3 writing tasks, also with a progressively increasing level of difficulty - 60 minutes.
TCF Intégration, Résidence et Nationalité Exam
- 20 multiple choice questions for reading - 20 minutes
- 3 tasks for speaking - 10 minutes
- 20 multiple choice questions for listening - 15 minutes
- 3 tasks for writing - 30 minutes
TCF Tout Public - Compulsory
This part is always mandatory
- Listening (29 questions) - 25 minutes
- Proficiency in language structures (18 questions) - 15 minutes
- Reading (29 questions) - 45 minutes
TCF Tout Public - Speaking
- Speaking (12 minutes) - Mandatory to take for French citizenship
MUST be taken with the TCF TP - Compulsory Exam ON THE SAME DATE
TCF Tout Public - Writing
- Writing (60 minutes) - Mandatory to take for French citizenship AND for studies in France
