For Who ? 

It is an official exam that assesses French language skills for anyone who needs to certify their level of French for personal, professional or academic reasons.

What is expected from the candidate ?  

I can...

• recount an event, an experience, or a dream.
• describe a hope, a goal, or a project.
• give my opinion and justify it.
• express my feelings.
• explain why I agree or disagree.
• understand the big ideas from the news -- articles, TV, or radio.
• make propositions and hypotheses / give advice.
• persuade someone.
• manage unforeseen circumstances in a foreign country.
• organize a presentation or a speech, in a logical order.

I'm an AFSF student, when can I take the exam? 

You can take the DELF B1 exam when you complete the intermediate level at the end of intermediate 6(B1.6). 

How is it composed?

🎧	Listening	3 exercises	25 minutes	Comprehension questionnaires dealing with several recordings (played twice). Maximum duration of recordings: 6 mins
📖	Reading	2 exercises	45 minutes	Comprehension questionnaires dealing with several written documents: - extract useful information concerning a particular task - analyze the contents of a document of general interest.
✍️	Writing	1 exercises	45 minutes	Express personal opinions on a general topic (essay, letter, article, etc).
💬	Speaking	3 tasks	15 minutes  / prep time : 10 minutes	Test in three parts:      - guided conversation (2-3 minutes)      - interactive exercise (3-4 minutes)      - expressing an opinion on a document designed to elicit a reaction (5-7 minutes).

Each part scores 25 points of a total of 100 points. To pass the exam, you must get 50/100 or 50%. The minimum mark required per test is 5/25.If you pass the exam, you will get a diploma valid for life.

The listening, reading and writing are group examinations held on one day or a half day.  

The speaking part may be scheduled on a different day depending on examinators' availability and number off candidate. For the speaking part the candidate is alone with a jury of 2 examinators.

Schedule

 It is not possible to change the time of your exam. There will probably be some waiting time between some of your
examination parts. 

The speaking part may be scheduled on a different day depending on examinators' availability and number off candidate. 

Please respect the schedule you receive as we are on a tight schedule and  plan to arrive onsite 15 minutes before your first exam. 

You will receive your official notification by email 1 week before the exam. Please check the email you use to register. Only the times on this notification must be taken into account, the information on your invoice is only informative.
