Objectives

5. The link and the consonant sequence

Why does French sound so fluid and fast?

Two words: “liaison” and “enchaînement.”

Unlike English, French doesn’t stress each word and each syllable, and the French tend to make one sentence sound like one word. It ends up making listening very difficult for non-native speakers. In this lesson, learn the rules of when to link and when to jump and improve our listening skills.
