Objectives

2. The sounds [y] and [u]

Have you ever felt embarrassed because you said « merci beau cul » instead of « merci beaucoup »?
That could have been avoided with the use of the proper “u” sound.

In French, unlike in English, you do have two very different “u” sounds. The tricky part is that the “u” found in “tu” (you) and in “vu” (seen) doesn’t exist in English. It’s a bit like pronouncing the “r”: it’s challenging when it’s a sound you’ve never even pronounced. Join this class to finally hear the difference between those two very close sounds and be able to pronounce them correctly.

Workshop offered especially for English and Spanish-speaking students , but all students are welcome to attend.
