This class will go through the level A2 From August 2022 to April 2023 (over 4 sessions) and get the students ready to ace the DELF A2 in April 2023. Level A1 completed required to enroll. This rate includes all 4 sublevels of A2 + registration fees for DELF B1 Exam in April or June 2023 (student's choice to be communicated at least one month before the exam). Les examens du DELF et du DALF sont passés dans 175 pays. Pour évaluer les candidats, les examinateurs-correcteurs doivent posséder une habilitation valable. La formation « Devenir examinateur-correcteur du DELF » conduit à l’obtention de cette habilitation (niveaux A1-B2, valable 5 ans).

The class is designed for everyone who wants to take their first steps in learning French. It aims to help students acquire elementary knowledge about the French language vocabulary functioning.

This 8 hours course will cover: 

Week 1 – Introduce yourself (personal information, nationality, profession, age). Definite / indefinite articles. French verbs avoir, etre, s’appeler.
Week 2 – Introduce your family, describe your friend.

Each week, you will have a document (a text, a video...) to read/watch at home to get you prepared to the conversation. This 8 hours course will cover: 

Week 1 – Talk about family relationships. Word order in French.
Week 2 – Describe the past events. Le passé composé. Time indicators.
Week 3 – Talk about where you live. Personal pronoun “on”.
Week 4 – Describe an experience abroad. Le Subjonctif.
Week 5 – Ask for help. Le Conditionnel.
Week 6 – Give advice. Imperative mode. 
Week 7 – Talk about an exceptional life experience. Adverbs “trop”, “ très”, “ beaucoup ”. Quel + noun / qu’est-ce que + sentence.

Ce cours s'adresse à des étudiants de niveau avancé, c'est à dire niveau C (B2 minimum). Chaque semaine, nous commençons par un tour de table ou chacun/e a la possibilité de partager son "quoi de neuf." Ensuite, nous discutons un sujet en profondeur, choisi à l'avance par le professeur, qui peut être aussi bien le rôle du café dans la vie des Français que des questions sur l'environnement ou autre. Les supports de cours sont souvent des extraits vidéos et/ou des articles.

Les sujets sont variés mais le professeur s'efforce de choisir un thème lié directement à la France, qui couvre donc aussi la culture et/ou la vie quotidienne. Son approche pédagogique est de laisser parler chaque participant autant que possible. L'acquisition de vocabulaire se fait au fur et à mesure de la conversation et les étudiants reçoivent le contenu de cours intégral après chaque cours via email. Apres une pause de quelques minutes, la dernière partie du cours est en général destinée à la présentation d'un/e étudiant/e sur le sujet qu'il/elle a choisi.

Ce cours est destiné aux étudiants niveau avancé (niveau C) aussi bien en compréhension écrite qu'a l'oral. L'année 2022 a été consacrée aux auteurs du 19eme siècle-Stendhal, Sand, Balzac - et nous poursuivrons ce cycle avec Alexandre Dumas.

La Session VI portera donc sur la lecture du Comte de Monte Cristo, Volume I d'Alexandre Dumas.
Assurez-vous bien que vous achetez le Volume I (ou Tome I) car ce roman est très long et divis en plusieurs volumes ou tomes.

La première partie du cours se concentre sur un sujet directement lié à l'auteur que nous sommes en train d'étudier, que nous discutons en classe, à partir de supports de cours tels que des extraits de vidéos et de textes. Par exemple, Balzac et les Femmes, ou bien la maison de George Sand ou tout autre sujet pertinent à la vie/l'œuvre de l'auteur. La deuxième partie du cours démarre par la lecture à voix haute d'un passage choisi par chacun des participants, qui nous explique aussi pourquoi il/elle a choisi ce passage. Puis, la discussion tourne autour de certaines des questions envoyées à l'avance par le professeur, qui poussent à une analyse plus approfondie du texte, son style, son contenu, son contexte historique, ses personnages etc.

Ce cours est destiné aux étudiants niveau avancé (niveau C) aussi bien en compréhension écrite qu'a l'oral. L'année 2022 a été consacrée aux auteurs du 19eme siècle-Stendhal, Sand, Balzac - et nous poursuivrons ce cycle avec Alexandre Dumas.

La Session VI portera donc sur la lecture du Comte de Monte Cristo, Volume I d'Alexandre Dumas.
Assurez-vous bien que vous achetez le Volume I (ou Tome I) car ce roman est très long et divis en plusieurs volumes ou tomes.

La première partie du cours se concentre sur un sujet directement lié à l'auteur que nous sommes en train d'étudier, que nous discutons en classe, à partir de supports de cours tels que des extraits de vidéos et de textes. Par exemple, Balzac et les Femmes, ou bien la maison de George Sand ou tout autre sujet pertinent à la vie/l'œuvre de l'auteur. La deuxième partie du cours démarre par la lecture à voix haute d'un passage choisi par chacun des participants, qui nous explique aussi pourquoi il/elle a choisi ce passage. Puis, la discussion tourne autour de certaines des questions envoyées à l'avance par le professeur, qui poussent à une analyse plus approfondie du texte, son style, son contenu, son contexte historique, ses personnages etc.

Elementary Conversation

A2 - Elementary

The class is designed for everyone who wants to learn to communicate in everyday situations with commonly-used expressions and elementary vocabulary. It aims to help students acquire knowledge about the French language vocabulary functioning.

This 8 hours course will cover: 

Week 1 – Talk about family relationships. Word order in French.
Week 2 – Describe the past events. Le passé composé. Time indicators.
Week 3 – Talk about where you live. Personal pronoun “on”.
Week 4 – Describe an experience abroad. Le Subjonctif.
Week 5 – Ask for help. Le Conditionnel.
Week 6 – Give advice. Imperative mode. 
Week 7 – Talk about an exceptional life experience. Adverbs “trop”, “ très”, “ beaucoup ”. Quel + noun / qu’est-ce que + sentence.
Week 8 – Characterize products. Interrogative pronoun “ lequel ”.

Each conversation topic goes with necessary grammar material that corresponds to the level A2 requirements.

The course aims to learn how to express yourself about different  common discussions.

By passing this course you will get more confident about leading a conversation on daily matters among your Francophone friends.

This 12 hours course will cover: 
Week 1:  Les droits humains
Week 2:  Le voyage et le tourisme
Week 3:  L'environnement
Week 4:  L’art et la littérature 
Week 5:  La gastronomie 
Week 6:  L’actualité
Week 7:  L’amour
Week 8:  Le cinéma et la musique

Each theoretical topic will be accompanied by videos, vocabulary worksheet and comprehension exercises.

Intermediate Conversation / Grammar (based on texts) (B1)

B1 - Intermediate

Le cours est organisé autour des sujets de conversation universels. Nous abordons plusieurs thèmes qui couvrent les différentes facettes de nos vies comme par exemple, notre société, l'environnement, la culture, l’art, la santé, les sentiments, les actualités, les loisirs, le tourisme, le bricolage, juste pour en nommer quelques-uns. S’il y a des sujets d’actualités qui vous intéressent, nous en parlerons. La littérature étant une des composantes de l’étude de la langue française, elle est indispensable à notre cours de conversation. Les œuvres des célèbres auteurs français de la littérature classique et contemporaine font partie de notre lecture.

Vive Le Cinéma Français (B1-B2)

B2 - Advanced

Bonjour French Films est une classe qui touche toutes les facettes du cinéma pour en faire découvrir la richesse. 

Les étudiants sont amenés à découvrir une nouvelle manière d'apprécier les courts métrages et bandes-annonces, les extraits,  les affiches, les acteurs et pour terminer, le synopsis d'un film qui seront support d’échanges et de discussions. Une façon ludique de continuer à progresser en français et de découvrir la francophonie. 

  Cette classe permettra de pratiquer des éléments de langue comme: 

  • La description physique, spatiale, le caractère
  • Ecrire un synopsis
  • Raconter un film
  • Emettre des hypothèses
  • Débattre
  • Ecrire un scenario
  • Ecrire une critique de film
