Terms and conditions

The Alliance Francaise de San Francisco reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. In the event that any changes are made, the revised terms and conditions shall be posted on this website immediately. Please check the latest information posted herein to inform yourself of any changes.

Class times are decided by the student and the teacher. Different rates apply for classes held off the Alliance Française premises and for semi-private classes.
The first hour of lessons with a new teacher will be dedicated to evaluate the level of the class, the objectives of the course, the expected progression and the method that will best suit the student.
The student decides the content of the classes. Make sure to let the Director of Education and your instructor know of your class content requirements in advance to ensure the best preparation.

PAYMENT & Class package

Payment must be completed BEFORE the first class.
Payment can be made by check to Alliance française (mailed or dropped off 1345 Bush street San Francisco CA 94109 )or debit/ credit card (Visa or MasterCard). Our payment system is not Amex compatible.

The Alliance Française de San Francisco requests that you purchase a minimum of 12 hours of instruction at the time of registration.

However, for your first class with a new teacher you can decide to purchase a 1h trial class. The membership is not required for the trial class. After this first class, you will be required to purchase a 12 hrs package to continue.

Mandatory membership

We now require a valid one-year membership to the Alliance Française to purchase private classes. However you can purchase the first one hours trial private class without an active membership.(benefits include access to the library and to social and cultural events, as well as other various promotions, etc).

24-HRS minimum cancellation notice

In case of cancellation, a minimum 24-hour notice is required; otherwise, the entire duration of the missed class is forfeited and due.

No refunds will be given for private classes, but the amount corresponding of the remaining hours may be transferred as a credit valid 1 year (from the date of purchase of the private classes) upon agreement to be used towards the purchase of group classes, workshops or transferred to another student.

Expiration

Purchased private classes are valid for 1 calendar year starting from the date of purchase and will be expire automatically. No extension will be provided.

Credits from private classes are also valid for 1 calendar year from the date of purchase.

Policies for private classes special offer to students

The offer is only available to students who are enrolled in adult or teen courses during the current session

All hours must be done during the current session (adults) or school year (for teenagers). This special offer only applies to online private classes. No report over the next session or school year.

No reimbursement, credit or refund. Not transferable.
