Valérie Genç

I moved from Switzerland to San Francisco with my husband at the end of June 2014. I studied Spanish, German and History of Art at the University of Lausanne and took a two-years pedagogical course to become a teacher. In Switzerland, I taught French and German to teenagers. Since I moved here, I’ve been working with kids, teenagers and adults at the Alliance Française and as a part-time French teacher in a private school.

At the Alliance Française, apart from my teaching responsibilities, I coordinate and am an examiner for the TCF and TEF exams. I am a very dynamic person and handle all my tasks in a serious manner.

When I have some free time, I enjoy drawing or visiting art & design museums. I love exploring mountains: In winter, I enjoy telemarking and in Summer, I like to spend time hiking and camping.I really enjoy living here in San Francisco, both for the dynamic nature of the city and its multicultural structure.
