Stephan De Gery

I was born in Bordeaux and graduated from the University of Limoges where I studied French literature, philosophy and drama. I later completed advanced business studies and served with the French military, in Germany. It was during my foreign service that I started teaching French. Twenty six years ago, I immigrated to the United States, settling in the San Francisco south bay area where I have continued working as a language instructor. I taught in Berlitz several years where I participated in cross-cultural programs for Americans being relocated to France and French coming to live and work in the United States. I was named 1999 Teacher of the Year for the entire Berlitz San Francisco District. I later led the French Department at the Language Studies Institute in Palo Alto, where I created new programs, developed curriculum, and trained French instructors. in 2004, I joined the Alliance Française of Santa Clara Valley and in May 2005, I started teaching at the Alliance Française of San Francisco until now, as a regular teacher. I definitely enjoy teaching all levels, grammar, conversation.
