Claire Gray

I am a teacher, translator and writer who currently lives in San Francisco. Born in the East of France, I grew up in Paris where I studied French literature, then I moved to Edinburgh, Scotland UK in 2001. There, I taught French as a foreign language for adults for more than 20 years. I also created French after- school clubs for children in primary schools. A few years ago I published a couple of bilingual books for children in English and French, part of the series; ‘The Adventures of Justine and Sebastien’. I pursued this writing experience in a different genre and wrote in English a couple of short plays performed onstage with a theatrical company in Glasgow, Scotland and a short screenplay selected in a couple of US festivals. The greatest satisfaction of teaching French throughout my career has been watching students from various ages, cultural and social backgrounds learn, improve and achieve their language goals, and for me having a small part in their French journey is extremely rewarding.
