TEF Exam

The TEF - Test d'Evaluation du Français is a test organised by the CCIP (Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de Paris/Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris). The TEF is designed to assess the level of French language of people who are not native French speakers. It is useful if you need to evaluate your French skills for Canadian Immigration, French Universities or for work. The TEF includes:

3 Compulsory Sections
(2 hours 10 minutes)

Written Comprehension (1 hour)
Listening Comprehension (about 40 mins)
Vocabulary and Structures (30 mins)

2 Optional Sections


Written Expression (1 hour)
Oral Expression (35 mins per candidate)

The TEFaQ is a specific version of the TEF which has been elaborated based on the request of the Ministry of immigration and cultural communities of Québec to assess the level of competency in French, specifically the listening and oral skills, of an audience that wishes to emigrate to Québec.

TEF Exam

TCF Exam - (Test de Connaissance du Français)

The Test de connaissance du français (TCF), designed by the CIEP (Centre international d'études pédagogiques) and accredited by the French Ministry of Education, is a French language proficiency test for non-native speakers of French who wish to evaluate and have their level of proficiency certified for professional, academic or personal reasons. The TCF is a multiple-choice test with 80 items that cover reading comprehension, command of grammatical structures and listening comprehension (duration: 90 mins). It also includes optional tests for written (105 mins) and oral expressions (15 mins).

The TCF pour le Québec has been specially designed to be consistent with the standards of the Ministry of Immigration (MICC) of Quebec, and is only intended for people wishing to settle in Québec. The TCF for Québec includes two examinations:

AP French Exam
AP Test Preparatory Course
This course is tailor-made to help teenagers prepare for the AP French exam. We cover AP French Language as well as AP French Literature. A minimum of 10 hours is required for the course, entitling you to a free membership card valid for 1 year. For every renewal of 10 hours of preparatory course, the student will receive 1 free hour.
DELF-DALF All Audiences
DELF (Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française) and DALF (Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française) are official qualifications awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the competency of candidates from outside France in the French language. These diplomas are valid for life.

DELF and DALF are composed of six independent diplomas that correspond to the levels of the CEF (Common European Framework of reference for Languages). Visit ciep.fr for more details. Sample tests are available here.
