Friday, June 18th: Soirée at De Young with the Alliance Francaise
The Impressionists are coming to San Francisco!
The Impressionists are coming to San Francisco! The Impressionist galleries of the Orsay Museum in Paris have closed for renovation, and the collection is coming to the de Young museum in San Francisco. Two sequential exhibits will be offered: "Birth of Impressionism" (May 22 to September 5) followed by "Post-Impressionist Masterpieces" (September 25 to January 18).
San Francisco is the only venue in North America to host the collection, and the only venue in the world to host both exhibits.
The Alliance Francaise of San Francisco is partnering with the de Young to offer special Friday evening "Soirees" at the museum during the exhibits. The first will be on June 18th during the "Birth of Impressionism" exhibit. There will be a reception, followed by a program, "Fete de la Musique," celebrating the music of this important era, and timed-entry tickets to see this fabulous collection.

You may choose to see the exhibit at 5 PM, and then attend the reception and program, finishing at 7:30 PM, or you may choose to start with the reception at 6 PM, and then attend the program and finally view the exhibit. Once you have seen the exhibit, there is no re-entry. The museum closes at 9 PM that evening.
We only have 250 tickets for this special event, which will sell out very quickly.

Please do not delay. Either call the Alliance at 415-775-7755 to secure your reservation or visit our website where you can purchase the tickets directly. Tickets are $75 each. The tickets will be mailed to you. Please remember to indicate whether you would like the 5 PM viewing or the 7:30 PM viewing.
Our other partner for this event is the French American Cultural Society, which is organizing live French music during the soirees. It will be a wonderful evening for San Francisco Bay Area's French community, including Francophiles and their friends. I hope you will join us.
